A first time cleaning of a new client’s home requires extra man hours to remove extra soil and build-up. Our team members must spend anywhere from 4 to 8 times longer to clean a first time client. Why the extra time?
If your home has never been professionally cleaned, it is likely that there is soil build-up throughout that is not always noticeable to the passing eye. If we are taking over an account from another residential cleaning service or individual, it’s likely that you have decided to make a change because you weren’t happy with the quality of cleaning. In this case, we are most likely going to run into areas that haven’t been properly cleaned. Our staff will need to remove the extra soil and build-up before we can commit to a successful maintenance schedule. Although each home being cleaned is different, the following are typical challenges that we face when cleaning a home for the first time:
- Bathrooms. We will need to put extra effort into removing hard water stains and buildup from fixtures, tubs and sinks. We may find build-up around the bottom of toilets, faucets, and other fixtures. Shower doors may have lime, rust, and hard water spots. Heavy mildew growth will need attention. The entire room needs to return to a clean starting point so your team can provide regular maintenance cleanings.
- Kitchen. There are many small cracks and crevices in the kitchen that some residential cleaning services overlook. The tops and exteriors of cabinets, refrigerators, dishwashers and stoves are places that often go untouched for long periods of time. You’ll also find grease and finger prints on most surfaces, especially stove tops, refrigerator doors, and small appliances. A good overall cleaning is essential to remove the hidden dirt, grease, and grime.
- Living Areas. We have most likely been hired to clean your home because you are a very busy person. We want to ensure that the small details that sometimes go unnoticed in a home now become noticeable! Dusting of blinds, sills, baseboards, light fixtures, wiping of prints on door frames and light switch plates all require detailed attention. Proper removal of accumulation requires extra time, effort and supplies.
- Hallways and entryways. These may be small areas but they usually have build-up around baseboards and edges. It is important to keep these areas clean as dust and dirt is constantly tracked in from the outside.
Removing the build-up of soil and grime is essential before we can properly maintain a home. Once your home has had a careful and detailed cleaning, your team will be able to work efficiently and effectively to get the job done properly each and every time. Getting back to a basic starting point is important so we have a “clean slate” to work with. Your satisfaction from the results of our efforts is necessary and extremely important to us.
